Former Harvard University President Lawrence H. Summers discussed “The State of the Economy” with Professor of Public Service and Co-director of the Center for Public Leadership David Gergen.
Professor Summers discussed the implications secular stagnation, a phenomenon that he argued will continue to restrain U.S. economic performance, especially given lower labor participation rates and near-zero interest rates. He further discussed the impact that technology will have on our economy in the long term.
