Heading to Houston

A team of IOP student volunteers are headed to Houston on January 14 to assist in rebuilding homes damaged by Hurricane Harvey last year.  On the trip, students will engage in a combination of rebuilding and community engagement projects, including  opportunities to volunteer at youth centers and shelters affected by the hurricane.  The eleven Harvard undergraduates are participating in a BreakADifference program that organizes college students to commit part of semester breaks to public service projects around the country.

Our volunteers for this week-long project are Nick Wyville ‘20, Shira Li ‘19, Isabella Kwasnik’20, Shao Zhao ‘18, Colin Gray-Hoehn ‘21, Wyatt Hurt ‘21, David Xu ‘19, Ted Waechter ‘18, Jose Larios ‘20, Michael Silva ‘21, and Samantha Frenkel-Popell ‘21.

The team will be sharing their progress and experiences each day, so check back to read their stories.
