GENERAL INFORMATION
The HPR is a quarterly political new analysis magazine published by the IOP. Our magazine is written and run entirely by students, with opportunities to participate in all aspects of the publishing process.
The HPR is a non-partisan publication; the focus of our articles is new analysis based on interviews and research conducted by writers. Each issue contains a Covers section (based on a topic selected by the magazine staff), as well as US, World, and Books and Arts sections.
For more information, check out our website at www.hpronline.org and/or feel free to contact Rebecca Friedman with any questions about how to get involved.
INVOLVEMENT
Write: You can write an article for the HPR on a wide variety of domestic and international political issues. There are no prerequisites for publication in the HPR, though if you want to become a Staff Writer, you much complete the Comp.
Website: The HPR is always working to build up our website. We are looking for blog contributors (both on a one time and continuing basis)
Interviews: Even as a comper, you will have the opportunity to interview nearly every world leader and political figure that comes through Harvard. Recent interviews have included Mikhail Gorbachev, Karl Rove, Elizabeth Edwards, and Vicente Fox.
Design/Graphics: The HPR always needs help with the aesthetic aspects of the magazine. If you are a layout pro or like to draw cartoons, there is a place for your skills!
Editorial Board: If you decide that you enjoy working for the HPR, there are many leadership positions available- from circulation to design to editing.
