Impressions of the Accidental Senator: Lessons and Reflections about Our Changing Democracy Discovered During my Unexpected Journey to the Senate with Mo Cowan

Description

We will begin with the story of a small-town Southerner who came to the Northeast, became a lawyer, met a man who became Governor, and found a seat in the Senate chamber. In the process we will explore the planning, happenstances, twists and turns that led to this Fellow becoming the 8th African-American to serve in the Senate.  And begin to explore the opportunities and hurdles that could lead -- or block -- others from similar experiences.
