William O. Taylor is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of the Globe Newspaper Company, which publishes The Boston Globe. He is also a Director of The New York Times Company. Mr. Taylor joined The Globe in 1956, after serving two years in the U.S. Army and became publisher in 1978.

In community activities, Mr. Taylor is a Director of the Boston Adult Literacy Fund, President of the Board of Trustees of The Boston Public Library, Director of Harvard Magazine, Director of United Way of America, and Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
