William Clinger is the Republican Representative of the 5th District of Pennsylvania to the U.S. House of Representatives. He is Chairman of the Government Reform and Oversight Committee and Vice Chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Congressman Clinger was elected in 1978 to the 96th Congress in his first bid for elective office and has been re-elected to all subsequent Congresses. He was a delegate to the Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention in 1967 and was a State Committeeman with the Pennsylvania Republican Committee from 1968 to 1975. In 1980 Congressman Clinger was co-chairman of the Pennsylvania Bush for President Committee in 1980 and Vice Chairman of the Pennsylvania Bush for President Committee in 1988.
