Tom Mathews

Thomas R. Mathews is a senior consultant to Craver, Mathews, Smith & Company, a national firm which specializes in membership development, fundraising, public strategies and communications. He was a founder of the company in 1973. Previously, Mr. Mathews was vice president of Common Cause, vice president of Communications for the national Urban Coalition, Senior Vice President of a New York public relations firm, Director of Public Relations for the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Congressional Relations, and Director of Information for the Peace Corps, which he helped organize and establish. A director of many political campaigns, Mr. Mathews has been a White House consultant and in 1968 was Washington press chief of the campaign for the presidency of the United States by the late Senator Robert Kennedy.
