Sander Levin was State Senator for Michigan's 15th District from 1965 to 1970, where he served as Senate Minority Leader, Chairman of the Senate Labor Committee and Vice-chairman of the Senate Education Committee. He was also state chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party from 1968 to 1969. In 1970 and 1974, Mr. Levin was the Democratic candidate for Governor of Michigan.
