Richard L. Berke is the National Political Correspondent for The New York Times. He covered the 1988 and 1992 presidential campaigns, specializing in campaign finance, politics and the media. Berke has also covered the White House (at the beginning of the Clinton Administration), Congress, domestic policy and the drug war, and he provides regular commentary on WQXR radio in New York. Mr. Berke has made numerous national television appearances and delivered lectures to university and professional groups. Prior to joining The New York Times, Mr. Berke was the Chief Washington correspondent for the Baltimore Evening Sun.
