Patricia Saiki is the former U.S. Representative for the First Congressional District of Hawaii, having served from 1987 to 1991. She has since been working as an Administrator with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Previously, Ms. Saiki served as a state senator in the Hawaii State Legislature from 1972 to 1982 and as a state representative from 1968 to 1974. She served as a delegate and the Official Seconding Speaker for the nomination of President George Bush at the Republican National Convention in 1992. Ms. Saiki has served as a delegate and secretary of the Republican National Convention in 1988, and as chairman from 1983 to 1985, vice-chairman from 1966 to 1968 and Secretary from 1964 to 1966 of the Republican Party of Hawaii. She has served as chairman of the national Women's Business Council, Official U.S. Delegate to the Emperor of Japan's Funeral, and was a member of the President's Advisory Council on the Status of Women and the President's National Commission on the Observance of International Women's Year.
