Marilyn Joy Waring is a Member of Parliament for Waipa in New Zealand. She is Chairperson of the Select Committee on Public Expenditure, the Caucus Committee on the Economy, and the Caucus Committee on Social Services. Ms. Waring served as the New Zealand Observer at the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women in 1980 and was previously a Member of Parliament for Raglan from 1976-1978. In 1978, she was leader of the New Zealand Delegation to the OECD Conference on the Role of Women in the Economy, and in 1976, she was the Parliamentary Delegate to the National Conference on Women and Health in New Zealand. Ms. Waring has written and given hundreds of speeches and prepared papers at Conferences, Congresses and meetings on a wide variety of subjects all over New Zealand.
