Gary L. Flowers has sixteen years experience on the front line of public policy formation, having served as a special assistant to Virginia Governor Lawrence D. Wilder; the youngest executive director of a state bar association in the nation; a public policy analyst for the President John F. Kennedy's Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in Washington, D.C. Flowers currently serves as a Vice President of Programs/National Field Director for Reverend Jesse L. Jackson's Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, based in Chicago, IL. The National Field Department organizes in the best tradition of the civil rights movement. With Flower's direction the Field Department utilizes direct action and chapter development as a means of addressing social, economic political unfairness. In 1997, Gary joined the staff of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition (RPC) and since has directed program development, message development, public policy analysis, and logistics for over 400 RPC direct action campaigns across the nation.
