ALVIN S. FELZENBERG was principal spokesman for the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks upon the United States (the 9-11 Commission) and to its non-profit successor organization, the 9-11 Public Discourse Project. In the 1990's, he served on the senior majority staff on the House of Representatives Government Reform and Oversignt Committee and as staff director of the Empowerment Subcommittee of the Small Business Committee. Felzenberg has also served in two presidential administrations, most recently as a consultant to the Secretary of the Navy and as Director of Outreach in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. In the 1980's, he served as New Jersey's Assistant Secretary of State in the administration of Governor Thomas H. Kean. Felzenberg has appeared as a guest commentator on public affairs television and radio shows broadcast on CNN, National Public Radio, C-SPAN, Fox News, CBS, NBC, and ABC. Felzenberg's writings have appeared in the Washington Post, Boston Globe, Philadelphia Inquirer, Christian Science Monitor, Weekly Standard and other publications. He was director of the Heritage Foundation's "Mandate for Leadership" Program in 2000 and editor of the book, Keys to a Successful Presidency, a guide to the last presidential transition. Felzenberg's book, Governor Tom Kean: from the New Jersey Statehouse to the 9-11 Commission is scheduled to be published in May of 2006.
