How do I request an absentee ballot?
Request an absentee ballot by contacting your town clerk’s office prior to the date of Election Day. You may send a written request or request a ballot over the telephone.

What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot?

The deadline is 5:00 pm the day prior to Election Day, if the town clerk is open on that day:
March 4 for the Primary Election
November 4 for the General Election

What is the voting procedure?

There are no witnesses required when voting by absentee ballot. Make sure to sign the outside of the envelope.

What are the deadlines for voting absentee?

Absentee ballots must be received by closing on Election Day:
Primary Election: March 4
General Election: November 4

What are the election dates and deadlines for 2008?
By-mail voter registration must be received by noon on the second Saturday prior to Election Day:
Primary Election: February 23
General Election: October 25

Is permanent absentee status available?
No. However, you can only simultaneously request absentee ballots for the Statewide Primary and the General Election if the mail-to address is the same.
