What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot?
Requests for an absentee ballot by mail must be received no later than the Friday before Election Day:
February 1 for the Primary Election
October 31 for the General Election
What is the voting procedure?
Once a ballot is sent to you, complete it and return to either your county or city clerk, depending on what type of election it is (county if a regular general or primary in even number years, city if a municipal general or primary in odd number years).
What are the deadlines for voting absentee?
Ballots are only valid if they are postmarked by the day before Election Day:
On or before February 4 for the Primary Election
On or before November 3 for the General Election
They must be received by the “official canvass” (the official count of ballots), which is usually 1-14 days after Election Day. Return your ballot in plenty of time to make sure it is counted!
What are the election dates and deadlines for 2008?
Primary Election: February 5
General Election: November 4
Voter registration closes 20 days prior to Election Day.
