How do I request an absentee ballot?
Know that Rhode Island calls absentee voting “voting by mail.” You may download the Mail Ballot Application here. You may have another person pick one up for you or call your local Board and request that an application be sent to you. This application must be filled out, witnessed or notarized by two witnesses, and delivered to the local Board so that it is received no later than 4:00 pm on the 21st day before Election Day or primary in which you wish to vote. The application may be mailed, picked up by you or personally delivered by a person acting at your request.

By 4:00 pm, 21 days prior to Election Day:
October 14 for the General Election

What is the voting procedure?

When you receive your ballot, vote and enclose in the envelope provided. Seal the envelope and have two witnesses or one Notary Public sign in the spaces provided.

General Election: November 4
