How do I request an absentee ballot?
The absentee ballot application is on the website and is available in English or Spanish here.

You can request an absentee ballot by writing a letter with the following information: Person’s name as registered; residence address, temporary mailing address if different; reason for voting absentee; date of birth, date and type of election, and their signature. The application can be mailed or faxed.

Where do I send the request?
You send the request to your local county board of registrars. Find contact information here.

What is the deadline for requesting an absentee ballot?
You may request an absentee ballot for the general election 180 days prior to Election Day.

The last day your ballot may be sent is:
November 3 for the General Election

What is the voting procedure?
You do not need witnesses. Instructions for voting are included with the absentee ballot.

What are the deadlines for voting absentee?
The registrar must receive the ballot no later than 7:00 pm on Election Day (see below).

What are the election dates and deadlines for 2008?
General Election/Special Election: November 4 (Registration closes October 6)

Additional Information

If you are a first-time voter and did not show identification when you registered to vote, you will have to mail a copy of it to vote absentee.
