Polling

Since 2000, the Institute has been conducting frequent polling of America's college students. The surveys - generally one is published in the fall semester and one in the spring semester - track students' political views and seek to understand what drives these new voters.

Our April 2004 survey broke college students into four distinct ideological groups. Most students do not fit either traditional liberal or conservative labels. To see where your views place you, take the IOP's Political Personality Test.

Our new publication, pdf"Are You Talking to Me? A Guide to Reaching Young Voters" draws on research conducted by the IOP and other organizations.
