IOP Alumni Scholarship

A living testament to the life and work of President John F. Kennedy, the Institute of Politics’ mission is to inspire students to lead lives that are engaged in public service, politics and civic leadership. The IOP Alumni Scholarship furthers this mission by providing full tuition to the John F. Kennedy School of Government to a Harvard College graduate who was actively engaged at the Institute of Politics during his/her undergraduate years and who has been accepted to the Kennedy School. The scholarship will only cover the tuition for the Kennedy School and cannot be used to cover the tuition for other joint degree programs at Harvard or other institutions.

Frankie Assaf Selected as 2011 IOP Alumni Scholarship Winner

As a Harvard undergraduate, there were two places – other than the classroom – that Francis “Frankie” Assaf called home: the Institute of Politics (IOP) and the Phillips Brooke House Association (PHBA). Assaf’s dedicated work at the Institute and PBHA helped turn his personal passion for urban education reform into a career path focused on ending inner-city educational inequity. In recognition of his commitment to improving education and the lives of America’s urban youth, the Institute is pleased to announce Frankie Assaf has been named the IOP’s 2011 Student Advisory Committee (SAC) Alumni Scholarship winner in support of her work towards a two-year Master in Public Policy (MPP) degree. The Alumni Scholarship is a merit-based opportunity for students active as undergraduates with the Institute’s programming to receive financial support towards a graduate degree at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS). As the Institute is dedicated to inspiring students into a life of politics, public service and leadership, the scholarship furthers that mission by providing a full, two-year scholarship to IOP alumni to enhance their educational experience at HKS.
