What opportunities exist for individuals interested in the Fellows and Study Groups Program?
The Fellows and Study Groups Program is the IOP’s oldest program. Each semester 6 resident Fellows from various political backgrounds join us at Harvard. The Fellows’ main engagements are their weekly Study Groups—informal discussions with Q&A that often feature high profile guests. Fellows also meet with interested student groups and students outside of their Study Groups. These Fellows are one of Harvard’s best resources and everyone is encouraged to become involved!
Criteria for participation: For Liaison, Leadership Team, and Fellows Selection Committee selection criteria, please see respective supplements.
Prerequisites: Study Groups are open to all members of the Harvard community.
Time Commitment: Study Groups take place Monday through Thursdays from 4-5:30. Come at your convenience. Application-only positions have additional time commitments, please refer to respective supplement for details.
Levels of Involvement: Each of the 6 Fellows has 6 Liaisons. There are 6 distinct positions on the Leadership Team and up to 12 positions on the Fellows Selection Committee.
Selection: All positions are selected at the beginning of each semester. Second semester seniors will not be considered. For the sake of sharing opportunities, few students will be chosen to serve as liaisons more than twice in their Harvard undergraduate career.
