Study Group Led by IOP Fellow Jim Baker

Date: Wednesday, March 21 2007
Time: 04:00 PM

National Security and the Media. What is the proper role for the media with respect to national security? Should the media publish stories based on leaked classified information? Should the media withhold from publication details that would significantly harm our ability to conduct intelligence operations? We will address these and related questions in a session with guest speakers David Corn, Washington editor of The Nation and a Fox News Channel contributor; and Institute of Politics Spring 2007 Fellow Carl Cannon, who is White House Correspondent for the National Journal.
